As a guest at Cannon Falls Lodge, you may choose to
stay in your own cabin or in private suite at the lodge.
This cabin is for the guest that wants beautiful mountain
views while listening to the stream rush by. The cabin
sleeps four comfortably, but can accomodate up to six
adults. Inside the cabin is a stone fireplace for those
cool mountain nights, a bedroom, sleeping loft, and a
full kitchen.
The lodge and cabins are in the construction phase at
this time. We expect them to be completed by the
summer of 2002. We are accepting reservations for the
fall. Fishermen can fish at the lodge without staying on
the property, but reservations are still required to fish.
We only allow four (4) fishermen per day, so call now to
reserve your cabin or fishing slot.
The Property has access to three streams. These
tributaries are stocked with more then 40,000 trout
annually. The waters contain stocked and native brown,
rainbow, and an occasional brook. The fish range in
size from 8 inches to over 5 pounds! Since the waters
are relatively high up in the mountains and close to the
spring source, the waters remain cool and clear year
round. The streams are all very wade-able waters.
The deep pools are below the falls and are easily
accessible for fishing. Some of the pools are over 18
feet deep with plenty of large pigs.
We have restricted the streams fishing to fly-fishing
only. We use only barbless hooks and would prefer the
use of a guide since many of the fish are so large you
risk injuring the fish without proper handling. Dry fly-
fishing is a must on this water. Terrestrials always work
well, with hoppers being a favorite of the rainbows. As
the water cools down, we tend to do more nymph
fishing, but we have still caught them on dry flies. We
would suggest a 4 or 5 weight rod as ideal since the
stream does not require long casts. However, you do
need to be a hunter on this stream as the water is
shallow and clear. The fish are in every hole, but you
need to be smart and quiet to catch them. We only
allow 4 fisherman on the river per day. This helps to
keep the fishing pressure to a minumum to maximize
the experience.

|
We are located in the North Georgia Mountains near
Turners Corner which is about 70 miles north of Atlanta.
Hartsfield, Atlantas airport, is the worlds busiest airport
with many flights daily. You may also fly into Greenville,
South Carolina.
